Presentation about MBHA

Today class we do our second presentation. We are divided into 9 groups so two people in each groups. I'm partner with Fatin, we have to choose the title that Miss Ean Na gave then make a silde. We chose about Malaysia Budget Hotel Association or known as MBHA.

In the slide, we wrote about their vision and mission, objectives and their president of the association. We cannot find many information in google about MBHA. After an hour, we has finish make our slide. Our group was the seventh group to present it.

  Selamat Sejahtera, 

Today our class fundamental are cancel because we celebrate Hari Raya AidilAdha, one of the celebration for Muslim people. This Hari Raya are to remembering,It honors the willingness of Ibrahim (Abraham) to sacrifice his son as an act of obedience to God’s command. But, before Ibraham could sacrifice his son, God provided a lamb to sacrifice instead. In commemoration of this, an animal is sacrificed and divided into three parts: one third of the share is given to the poor and needy; another third is given to relatives.

 During Eid al-Adha, distributing meat amongst the people, chanting the takbir out loud before the Eid prayers on the first day and after prayers throughout the three days of Eid, are considered essential parts of this important Islamic festival.

 Men, women, and children are expected to dress in their finest clothing to perform Eid prayer in a large congregation in an open waqf("stopping") field called Eidgah or mosque. Affluent Muslims who can afford it sacrifice their best halal domestic animals (usually a cow, but can also be a camel, goat, sheep, or ram depending on the region) as a symbol of Ibraham's willingness to sacrifice his only son.

RAYA AIDILADHA!!!

Aidiladha is also commonly known as Hari Raya Korban or Hari Raya Haji in Malaysia. 

Celebrated about two months after Hari Raya Aidilfitri, on the 10th day of Zulhijjah, the 12th (last) month of the Muslim calendar, it marks the end of the haj pilgrimage period (about two weeks). 

Every year, millions of Muslims make the journey to Mecca in Saudi Arabia to perform the haj, one of the five basic tenets of Islam. Aidiladha also commemorates the sacrifices made by the Prophet Ibrahim (hence the word 'korban,' which means sacrifice in Arabic), who demonstrated immense faith when he was put to the test by god.

During Aidiladha, the sacrifice of four-legged animals such as lambs, goats, cows, bulls and camels is performed.The slaughter of the animal is done after the congregational prayer in the morning of Aidiladha. The animals are killed in accordance with the proper religious rites and the meat is then distributed.Making the sacrifice (korban) is not a compulsory religious duty, but an obligations for those who are able to afford it.-Sarah-

MY BIG BIG FAMILY

ITS HARI RAYA HAJIIII

Yesterday was Eid al-Adha Day where it is an Islamic Festival to commemorate the willingness of Ibrahim or known as Abraham to follow Allah's command to sacrifice his son. Muslims around the world observe this event. We celebrate this event every year.

In the morning, I helped my mother prepared the foods on the table. Our main meal was 'rendang ayam' served with 'pulut kuning'. Besides that we also have 'mihun goreng' and dessert which is tiramisu. My father and my brother has went to surau to performs 'solat sunat aidiladha'. When they were back, we ate together and after that we getting ready to go to my aunt's house. Around 11 a.m, we were ready while wearing 'baju raya'. Basically we do not has a theme for Eid Adha so we just wear what we already has. The journey to my aunt's house was about 30 minutes from our house.

At there, there are plenty of other dishes prepared. We can eat until we are full! hahahha! Almost all of my relatives came to my aunt's house to celebrate Eid Adha. We did not went back to our village because my grandmother was at my aunt's house and that's why all the relatives came to her home.

Sadly, we did not get to take a picture of our family but I already take a selfie with my siblings and here's the picture:

WHAT I CHOOSE FOR MY FUTURE

Today, Miss An Na gave each of us a piece of paper and we need to draw or write about career opportunity that related to tourism and hospitality industry. She said be creative and based on our imagination what we gonna do after we study in diploma. So first, I draw based on my imagination that I wanted to own my own flight agency and I will be flight attendant in my flight agency. All flight attendant in my agency will wear Baju Kurung as our official uniform. Second, i wanted to be tourist guide. Thirdly, i wanted to be Muslimah Model!!! Next we need to present what we have drawn on the paper.-Sarah-

My Career in Future

Today, we do some activity in our class. Miss Ean Na gave us a piece of paper for each then she told us to draw a comic or some pictures of what we want to be in future based on tourism industry. She gave us a time to do that activity while she doing her works. We have to present our work at TECC after lunch.

At TECC, our presentation started by the boys. There are many kind of career that my classmates want to be such as tourist guide, stewardess, travel agent, and some of them want to work at amusement park or water park. After awhile, my turn is coming. So what I want to be in the future is as hotel manager. At first, of course I will work as a standard employee. Then, I will try to get a higher position which is hotel manager. After working for long time, I am planning to open my own hotel to be more advanced and successful.

week 7 (16 August 2018)

 So today we start the Fundamental of Tourism and Hospitality class around 0915 H. Today our Miss Ung Ean Na prepared us with a A4 paper and ask us to make a describe about our plan for next career of tourism industry and we need to present this in our second class at TECC.

This is what I want in my future in Tourism Industry.

This is me while make a presentation about my career in my future.

  There have a airplane which for me it is a symbol of tourism for myself, because I would like to travel around this world with that airplane. Then I have draw a certificate and a hats as a symbol for my graduate around 3 years from now, another picture there I have draw a boarding pass ticket which I means to be a ticketing or travel consultant in my future. Then I would like to be a front desk assistant which I can talk with my company tourist and give them a good customer service there. The last one is the have a few famous building in this world which the picture give a meaning of I want to go there first when I have my own money. Whatever happen in my future, I hope I can be happy with  my work and I don't mind if I can get what I have draw but as long as I have a happy life in my future hehehehehee..

Chapter 1 !

 Hey there,

Here I would like to make a little bit conclusion based on the chapter 1.

  Based on the first week we learned about the introduction of tourism, hospitality, and the relationship between this two sectors. These two sectors need each other because they need to work together to help sustain each other.

  The characteristics of Tourism and Hospitality Industry :
1) Perishable - cannot be saved, stored, resold or returned
2) Intangibilty - a state of being abstract, as are thing that cannot be touched.
3) Inseparability - service cannot be separated from their providers.
4) Changeability / Variability - quality of services depends on who provides them, when and where.

  The history and development of tourism and hospitality industry. 700 hundred years ago, travelling seemed to be a synonym for being formented.

 Tourism in the 5th Century, tourism really began as an out growth of travel during the Greek & Roman Empires. Goverment officialls also travelled on state business. The fall of the Roman Empire in the 5th Century resulted in political instability.

  Modern tourism, The Wright brother's experiment with the first airplane, awinged bicycle at Kitty Hawk, north Carolina, launched today's modern air travel system.

week 5 (2 August 2018)

  For the first class in Ogos Miss Ung Ean Na ask us to make a small group for presentation. So my group get topic MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions) for the presentation.

In the first class we just prepare the Mahjong paper for the presentation.

  MICE is a type of tourism in which large groups, usually planned well in advance, are brought together for a particular purpose.

  A Meetings is a gathering of two or more people. They sharing information , dicussing and solving problem. 

  An Incentive is a motivational force that creates a desire to excel. It is something which encourages people to act on stimulus to increase the output.

  Conferences is a gathering of individuals who meet at an arranged place and time in order to discuss or engage in some common interest.

  Exhibitions is an organized presentation and display of a selections items. Exhibition usually occur within museums, galleries and exhibition halls.

week 4 (26 July 2018)

For the first class we need to do a padlet. Put the image of Caravan, image of hotel and little describe about the topic hospitality industry.

  In TECC we need to watch a video of introduction to hospitality industry and make a summary about the video in the forum in cidos.

Then, we played a Quizz about hospitality and tourism.

3rd week ( 19 July 2018)

The history & development of the tourism and hospitality industry.

 Pineapple is an international symbol for hospitality.

 In 1972, the Malaysia Tourism Development Corporation (TDC) was established as an agency under the Ministry of Trade and Industry. Visit Malaysia Year 1990 is the first campaign to attract tourists. The campaign continued in 1994, Visit Malaysia 2007, 2014 and the latest campaign will be in 2020. We hope this kind of campaign will attract more tourists to visit Malaysia while at the same time boosting the Malaysian economy.

I WON AGAIN!!!

          After break, we continued our class at TECC. We need to present about our topic which is Tavel Trade. After presentation, we played game called Quizizz again!! On the first round I ranked 8 out of 24. For the second round , YEAY I WON FIRST PLACE AGAIN!!! It was so fun playing this game . Of course the questions related to our subject which is Fundamental Of  Tourism and Hospitality. Besides, we gained more knowledge while playing this game.-Sarah-

Travel Trade

           Last week, on Thursday, our lecturer gave a task to our class. My group need to find about Travel Trade. Travel Trade means many things to many people in the tourism industry. But a simple definition is: “people and companies that resell travel products that they have bought and/or reserved from other parties”. Source: the Tourism Company.

          There are 6 sectors in Travel Trade ; Tour Operator , Coach Operator , Wholesalers , Travel agent, Destination and Event Manager Companies and Professional Conference Organiser.  Tour operators build a package for the elements that make up a holiday or a tour, often dealing with travel, accommodation, transfers and booking activities at the destination. Tour operators often specialise in planning for large groups or events, such as for conferences. An increasing number work online.

          As with hotel booking agencies, coach operators range from small driver-owned companies, to large operators, publishing their own brochures of coaching holidays. Wholesalers develop and market inclusive tours through travel agencies. They generally sell to other elements of the travel trade rather than to the public. Travel agents organise personal travel and accommodation for travellers. They provide travel and tourism services on behalf of suppliers including airlines, hotels, cruise lines, railways, and package tour operators. .Conference and incentive organisers manage all aspects of conference organisation on behalf of their clients, and often offer tourism-based incentives for companies looking to reward, encourage and recognise high performance.

          What is Destination managenent companies??. A destination management company, also commonly referred to as a DMC, is a third-party firm that is commonly hired to provide professional services for the planning and implementation of out-of-town event programs and services. The value of a destination management company primarily rests in the company's extensive knowledge of the local area as well as its professional relationships and local resources. A DMC can be of great help to a corporate event and meeting planner who has been charged with coordinating an out-of-town event.-Sarah-

After all group done their presentation, we played game Quizizz again. Yeay!

First round, the question is about the countries, We have to guess which country there based on the given picture in the questions. I got 5 out of 10 questions and rank 6. Second round, I got 20 correct out of 21 questions. Only one question that I was wrong answered because I was confused that time. Actually, I do not remember what the questions all about but it was so easy and I GOT INTO TOP 5 PLAYERS FOR THE FIRST TIME AND I AM PROUD OF MYSELF.

MY FIRST PRESENTATION IN FUNDAMENTAL CLASS

Today class we were divided by four groups of six to seven members. I got into group which has six members including myself. My group members are Afifah, Diana, Sarah, Mira and Ari. Miss Anna assign us the subject of Travel Trade. We need to find the definition and what sectors that have in Travel Trade. Then, we wrote all the information that we found in mahjong paper so we can present it in front of class.

After that, we continued our class at TECC at 12 p.m. to do presentation. My group was the first one that started the presentation session. In our presentation we explained about what is travel trade, sectors that have in travel trade which is tour operators, coach operators, wholesalers, travel agents, destination and event management companies and professional conference organisers. Then, we showed a video that connected to our title.

Introduction to Hospitality Industry

During last class, we started our class with online activity. We need to answer Miss Anna's questions on padlet. In padlet, me and my classmate need to write the meaning of F&B, FIT AND GIT, accommodation and we need to post photo of fine dining, hotel and caravan. After lunch, we continued our class at TECC. In TECC, we played game called Quizizz. In the game, we need to answer questions that related to our topic in fundamental of tourism and hospitality subject and I've got the FIRST place!!! We continued our lesson with watched video about introduction to hospitality industry and we need to explain what we have understand on the video of introduction to hospitality industry. As usual, we ended our class with explained what we have wrote in our blog to Miss Anna. -By Sarah-
